Dr. Carolyn Khanian, Ph.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Founder
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with 14 years of experience working with adults and adolescents across private practice, hospital, and outpatient settings.
Most people who find their way to me are self-aware, motivated, and genuinely stuck. They've done the reading, they understand their patterns at least partly, and they're frustrated that none of that has translated into actually feeling better. That's the kind of work I find most meaningful: helping people move from insight to real, lasting change.
I work collaboratively and always with an eye toward what actually helps. Understanding yourself matters, but what I'm really paying attention to is whether anything shifts in your life outside of our sessions.
Sessions are real conversations, not a formula. Sometimes serious, sometimes direct, occasionally lighter when that fits. I want you to leave each one feeling clearer, not just heard.
Practical Tools. Real Depth. Lasting change.
Therapy works best when it feels both useful and meaningful. My approach combines evidence-based techniques with insight-oriented work because most people need both: something to do differently and a real understanding of why the old patterns kept showing up in the first place.
Evidence Based
I draw from CBT and DBT to help with symptoms, build coping skills, and shift patterns that aren't working. I don't follow rigid protocols. I adapt these tools to fit you, your goals, and your actual life.
Insight Oriented
I also spend time exploring where patterns began and why they keep showing up. Understanding early experiences, family dynamics, and relational themes can lead to real, lasting change when it's paired with action. Insight matters most when it actually leads somewhere.
